BEWARE OF PICKPOCKETS!!
With the auspicious Diwali festival around the corner, markets are glittering with dazzling lights and buzzing crowds. While the shopkeepers and business houses are going gaga during the Diwali season, the pickpockets, too, are taking advantage of the situation.
Recently, a pickpocket took advantage of this crowd and robbed a senior citizen’s bag containing Rs. 20,000/- After this unfortunate incident, the police have increased their patrolling. Even the policewomen are patrolling and keeping a hawk’s-eye on suspicious anti-socials at Mulund’s prominent roads like R.R.T. Road, M.G. Road and S.L. Road which are most crowded.
Briefing Home Times, a Mulund Police official said, “Due to the Diwali festival, there is a huge rush in the market. Generally, pick-pockets take advantage of this rush and loot people. But, the tragedy is that many people do not lodge complaints, hence the thieves get encouraged. Through Home Times, Mulund Police urges Mulundkars to be alert while shopping in crowded places and kindly complaint, if looted.”
