Lions Club International District 3231 A-2 Celebrates Grand Awards Nite

Lions Club International District 3231 A-2 celebrated a grand Awards Nite on June,23, 2019 at R Mall, Ritz Banquet Hall Ghodbunder Road, Thane, under the able leadership of District Governor, MJF Lion K. J. Paul and his gracious wife, Lion Lady Sylvia Paul. Past International Director, PMJF graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Lions Club International District 3231 A-2 has 115 clubs under its wings. Awards and 25 Rotating Trophies in 10 different categories were presented to 512 Lions who successfully completed their projects during the year. The awardees also included the Region Chairpersons, Zone Chairpersons, President, District Chairperson and Past District Governor (PDG). The Past District Governor’s presence amongst the 400 Lions members from all Clubs gave this event a special flavour.

In this context, the Micro Members contributed immensely in each and every District meeting for which the District Governor presented special mementoes to them, praising their work. In turn, the Micro Members expressed great satisfaction at the District Governor’s presence and co-operation at these District meetings.

It’s a matter of record that Lions Club of Mulund bagged 17 Awards and 2 Rotating Trophies at this event. Leo Hemanshu Kothari was conferred “Leo of the Year’ at the Lions District level for his unstinted co-operation and support to the District Governor in each and every project. Moreover, Leo Hemanshu Kothari was also felicitated with an Award and a Rotating Trophy.

Golden Category Awards were presented to Lion Sharad Patel (Solar Light), Lion Bhawanji Shah (Help to the Handicapped), Lion Batuk Shah (Foodgrains Donation), Zone Chairperson Lion Anand Agrawal, Lion Ravi Agrawal, Lion Jayant Chheda, Lion Kumaran Nair and Lion Prashant Phatak and Awards for Excellence were given to Lion President Lion Sunita Desai, Treasurer Lion Hitendra Lakhani and Secretary Lion Vinod Somal. Moreover, Lion Maya Kothari (Micro Member) was also honoured with an International Medallion and a memento for her selfless service to Lionism. Unbounded joy and happiness were witnessed in the Lions Club of Mulund camp for having bagged 17 awards and two Rotating Trophies from the various categories. District Governor MJF Lion K.J. Paul expressed immense satisfaction at the grand success of this event.

The evening ended with a musical programme followed by a sumptuous dinner.
