Mulund- Bhandup Bay to have a Bird Sanctuary!

Wanna have a fabulous treat watching beautiful birds? Well, if you are a bird lover then you can experience the delight of watching the tall, slim and attractive large flocks of flamingos at the Bay of Mulund and Bhandup. The good news is that the Forest Department has proposed to make a bird sanctuary at the Mulund-Bhandup Bay and bank upon the bird lovers thronging in large numbers to watch these birds at Airoli or at the Mulund-Bhandup bay.

According to ornithologists, the bay at Bhandup and Mulund has great nutrients that are the prime reason what attracts the flamingos to Mulund – Bhandup Bay. Hence, these birds merrily throng each year in abundance, covering a distance of thousands of miles in the lure of nourishing and healthy food. With the arrival of flamingos each year to Mulund-Bhandup bay tourists flock these bays in large numbers to watch these gorgeous and slender birds. Their pink colour adds to their splendour and the bird lovers get mesmerized by their charm and allure. Hence, motivated by the huge amount of tourist attraction to watch these birds, the Forest Department is planning to make a flamingo sanctuary in Mulund-Bhandup Bay.

During the winter season, the flamingos land in Mumbai at various creeks like Thane, Nava Sheva, Wadala and Vashi, but the maximum flamingos are attracted to Mulund-Bhandup Bay as the place is filled with nutritious food and a wonderful atmosphere which is ideal for the flamingos. The Forest Department is positive that soon the proposal of a bird sanctuary would get a green signal from the government. Hence, the Department is making all the necessary arrangements.
