Durga Pooja
In keeping with tradition, Durgotsav is being celebrated this year also with the usual pomp and pageantry at Nalanda Recreation Ground at Madan Mohan Malviya Road in Mulund (W) under the aegis of Navjeevan Sangh. This year, a 20-foot tall idol of Durga Mata has been installed at this venue in which Maa Durga has been portrayed doing battle in the heavens against the demon, Mahishasur. Additionally, a health check-up facility, free meals and other social activities have also been arranged this year. This event is being held under the guidance of Navjeevan Sangh’s President, Pinaki Sarangi. This is the 8th year of Durgotsav’s grand celebration where a specially crafted mud image of the Devi has been brought all the way from Kolkata that has been attracting hordes of devotees.
