SAMBAHJI RAJE GARDEN WEARS A TOTALLY NEW LOOK!!

The Sambhaji Raje playground in Mulund East that was embroiled in controversy due to its concretization work, has finally overcome all the hurdles that it faced for its ambitious renovation work to convert it into a posh multi-sports hub.

The garden has finally won its battle. It is complete and is drawing huge applause for its exceptional renovation work. Mulundkars are going gaga over its several amenities that have made the Sambhaji Raje playground a major attraction and an elite place in this suburb.

It may be noted that BJP Corporator, Rajani Keni, undertook the renovation of the park and promised to give it a major face-lift and transform the garden into a posh multi-sports hub. She promised to offer multiple courts for different sporting activities like cricket, football, basketball court, kabaddi, kho-kho, long jump, etc. She also promised to make a skating track for kids and a yoga center and toilet for senior citizens. The highlight of the ground is the biggest 800-metre jogging track. However, the controversy over the concretization work had created hurdles. Nevertheless, BMC continued its renovation work dedicatedly and now the garden is open to public and is a treat for one and all. Due to the concretization controversy, BMC has dropped the proposed skating and cricket pitch track.

Residents and frequent joggers who throng the garden are delighted at the major facilities at the garden. Besides playing courts, the garden has fitness equipment for health enthusiasts to shape their bodies. Delighted at the facelift of Sambhaji Raje garden, Sujata Shetty told Home Times, “I and our Throw Ball team have been visiting Sambhaji Raje garden since past 20 years. After the renovation, the garden has got an elite look. It has several facilities, hence from small kids to senior citizens are enjoying. It would have been better if there was a tennis court. Nevertheless, people are happy with the renovation.”

Venkatesh Iyer, another resident, told Home Times, “The renovation work done at Sambhaji Raje garden is ‘first rate’. The place is a boon for sports enthusiasts. Since there is no football ground or basketball court nearby, hence children are very happy.” Iyer added, “In addition, through a letter, we have requested some other amenities, which Rajani Keni has promised to provide.”  “Sambhaji Raje garden is an historic garden and its inauguration was done at the hands of the late Shri Balasahab Thackeray. With the recent make-over, the place has acquired an elite status in the suburbs,” Iyer added.
