ROAD IN DIS-REPAIR!! RESIDENTS EXASPERATED!!
Mulund: BMC may be engaged in road work but, alas, residents living in the interior lanes of Mulund claim the roads in their area are lying in a pitiable condition! Many disappointed residents told Home Times that since past several years roads in their area are in shambles yet BMC has never shown any courtesy of visiting their area, forget repairing the roads!! However, BMC cliams they are helpless as they have nothing to do with this property.
Sharmaji, a resident of Nandanvan Industrial Estate in Mulund West, informed that the road in their area has not been repaired since the past many years. Speaking to Home Times he disgustingly said, “Our area is a residential area but since it is close to an industrial estate, the road is used by heavy vehicles and this has caused huge killer potholes on our road. Since the past 4 years, we have been complaining but they concerned authorities have ignored our pleas.”
Another resident said, “We are tired of complaining but neither the local corporator nor the BMC officials pay heed to our agony, because the said property does not fall under the jurisdiction of BMC. The road is in such a dismal state people fear to walk on the road. The tar on the road has peeled off, hence when vehicles traverse the road dust enters our house and this is causing us breathing and other health issues.”
The road is a vital connecting link between Nandanvan Industrial Estate and LBS Marg. Half of the road is in a satisfactory condition while the other half is pathetic. Due to this, not only the residents of the area are affected by dust and muck pollution, but even the pedestrians and the drivers face the same problem. What is worst, there is a school nearby hence children suffer from pollution!
Home Times urges the concerned authorities to make an urgent inspection of this road and repair the road at the earliest so that the people can have some relief which they have craving for since the past 4 years!!
